Halloween! What, did you think I meant some other holiday?
The house is decorated and full of spooky cheer. The purple lights blink merrily over the door, and assorted monsters wait to greet our guests. I just hope we have some. Last year we had one trick-or-treater. One. I could have cried.
We’re all looking forward to our favorite Halloween meal. I like to take ribs and a bottle of barbecue sauce and let them slow cook all day. Then I greet the (older) kids while ripping meat off a bone with ‘bloody’ lips. It gives us all a giggle, and I love ribs anyway.
Poor Husband will be home for the first time in years. He’s looking forward to the fun. I just have to keep him from being too scary for the little ones. He wants us to do our Christmas decorating in a Nightmare Before Christmas style. Being close to Disney World means we have lots of opportunities to buy decorations that aren’t available most other places. But that would be very expensive, Disney prices being what they are. I will be on the lookout for ideas to make my own spooky Christmas decorations.
